It really is the most wonderful time of the year. It’s a time to celebrate the year’s successes and plan for an even more prosperous New Year. It’s a time to get together with family, friends and colleagues and join in one another’s achievements and delight. The quintessential holiday party is really the best kind of party; the decorations, from twinkling lights, to lush, fresh smelling Christmas trees or a beautiful heirloom menorah; the comfort food and cocktails or that special bottle of wine you’ve been saving all year; and of course the company. With a great group of folks, the holiday party is the best party of the year.
This past Tuesday was our company party at one of San Francisco’s most iconic and dazzling landmarks. The Fairmont Hotel, “Nob Hill’s grand dame” was built in 1907 and has since become a destination for guests such as President John F. Kennedy, Mick Jagger, Marlene Dietrich and Nat King Cole. The 6,000 square foot Penthouse, complete with billiard room entirely covered in floor-to-ceiling Persian tiles, library (with secret passage way to the main suite) and a professional grade kitchen was definitely the star of the show on Tuesday. As we exited the eighth floor, the Sotheby’s International Realty agents, assistants and staff were welcomed by President and CEO Kathy Korte, EVP and COO Frank Symons, and of course Jeff Gibson, Senior Vice President and Brokerage Manager of our San Francisco office. The backdrop was breathtaking. Being in the private Penthouse, not only is the interior incredible but the city lights are mesmerizing from the expansive balcony with 180 degree views of the city (including one of the most beautiful views of the Transamerica Pyramid I’ve ever seen). It was a beautiful evening with plenty of holiday cheer. It was a great way to end such a wonderful year in this business.
