Labor Day at Playland-Not-at-the-Beach
Playland-Not-at-the-Beach hosts a Labor Day weekend extravaganza! Yes Labor Day is officially the “end” of summer when neighbors host BBQs or you pack up the fam for a weekend at Tahoe. But with the mini heat wave we are about to experience, a respite from the sweltering sun may be in order come Monday. Playland-Not-at-the-Beach has got you covered. The indoor, climate-controlled Museum of Fun is invites kids and adults to enjoy the 30+ pinball machines, arcade games and other attractions. Did we mention all pinball machines and most arcade games are completely FREE!? Aside from reliving your youth playing centipede or Bally “Nip It”, there is far more to see. From the clowns at Circus World to the curiosities of the Side Show back to the fun and games of the Carousel Carnival and the hilarious Hilarity Hall, expect a good two to three hours of sheer nostalgia while introducing the next generation to the treasures of the bygone era.
Playland-Not-at-the-Beach has been open since 2000 and is run completely by volunteers whose goal it is to preserve the old timey fun of places like Playland on the Beach and the Sutro Baths. Check the website for more information, schedule of events and admission costs. If you haven’t yet, this is a must for all ages not only for the entertainment but the historical significance in the Bay Area’s history!
